Fiction on A Budget

One of the astounding and depressing things that appears to have happened in the 9 years I was out of Australia is that the price of books have skyrocketed. Now I could say make some snide political comment about how 7 of those years were under a conservative government that obviously wanted to keep people ignorant and discourage reading, but I won’t. Suffice to say that a new release Sci-Fi paperback can start at $20.00, even Games Workshop’s black library pulp is $18.00 and hardcover books are out of the question.

So three hardy cheers then for Fantasy & Science Fiction Magazine, which every two months delivers 250+ pages of high quality new speculative fiction for the bargain price of £15.50.
